The Scarlet Man must be so disappointed with me...what am I going to do now? Well, I need to collect Aether. Then I need to get away from all the fog. Where in Aethasia can I go? It's practically impossible. Aethasia is immersed in fog. But there has to be some place...aha! The Old Mount! I can go there! But first I must go to No Man's Landing and help out the urchins and pick up rubbish and fill up the Tower Great Engine. Maybe the Scarlet Man won't be so mad at me if I do those things...now how am I going to get there? sees a @May_Otterview robot wearing a jetpack and a lightbulb comes on

Me: Ahem, hello, Miss Robot! Could I please have that jetpack?
RobotMay3: Why do you need it?
Me: I need to get to No Man's Landing.
RobotMay3: Can't you just walk?
Me: rolls eyes That would take days. Now may I please have the jetpack?
RobotMay3: Hmmmm.....no.
Me: Humph. How about we trade?
RobotMay3: It depends on what you have to trade.
Me: Here's one of @Vytanni_Throttlenight's explosive devices, now can I have the jetpack?
RobotMay3: Throw in a few of those snickerdoodle cookies of yours and you've got a deal.
Me: Okay, fine. Take them.
RobotMay3: A pleasure doing business with you.
Me: puts on the jetpack and a mask I'll make up for my mistake. I'll show the Scarlet Man that I can fix this on my own, and He won't be disappointed in me.
RobotMay3: Are you sure that you can do it on your own? If you go to the Scarlet Man, I'm sure He would help you.
Me: No, I don't think He will, not after what I did. I forgot about Him. He has probably forgotten about me, too.
RobotMay3: Forgot, fogrot! He would never forget you, or anyone else!
Me: When I fix my mistake I will go to Him. Anyway, what do you know? You're just a robot.
RobotMay3: That's not very nice. Your brain must be foggy.
Me: Whatever. See ya! flies away

Something beeped in Scarlett's coat pocket. Interested, she quickly dashed into a dark alleyway in No Man's Landing and slid out the communication device.

Hello, Resistance workers, this is RobotMay3. I know where Ariella Newheart is. If you want to know, come to these coordinates. RobotMay3, out.

Scarlett squinted her eyes. Ariella Newheart? I haven't seen in her in ages! But why would one of May's robots be tracking her?... Could there be something wrong?

Starting to get worried, Scarlett pressed the coordinates attached to the robot's message. She knew that place. It led to a dock in No Man's Landing. She smiled. Not that far off!

Stealthy as a cat, Scarlett made her way to the docks without alerting any automatons. Then she spotted the robot, waiting patiently nearby, fiddling with some sort of gadget on it's arm. She dashed over.

"Ah, I knew someone would come. Greetings." It said. Scarlett nodded in acknowledgement. "I understand you have the location of Ariella Newheart," she whispered lowly, keeping her eye on the nearby guards. "Is there a reason of why that was important? Is she in some kind of trouble?"
RobotMay3 shook her head. "I'm afraid so. It's her mind. She's stayed in the fog too long- it's obvious. She thinks she has to somehow make it up to the-" it stopped, looking around cautiously, "the Scarlet Man, for something. I'm not sure what, but she's on her way here right now. I gave her my Jetpack."

"Wait, if you gave Ariella your jetpack, how did you get here so quick?" Scarlett questioned, raising an eyebrow.
The robot winked. "I have my ways," it said mischeiviously.

Scarlett ignored it. What concerned her was Ariella. She sighed deep in compassion for the girl. She herself had been in that same place at one time- she had thought that after what she did for the Empire, the Scarlet Man would never forgive her, and she felt as if she had to make it up to him. But she didn't have too- he had reassured her that he had already forgiven her, and that he loved her, so, so much....

She had to get to Ariella, and fast, before she did something she would regret.

"Oh, I've bin here for abit five minutes. That @Etlo_Maxlance tauld me whaur to find ye. He said his sister knew whaur ye were. He's a braw laddie, i'nt he?" Whatever.

This is me. I failed my Commander once, but I will not do so again. My Aethermatron gauntlet will always be used for good. I must use the Aether monocle to keep the recurring fog-vision away. I will wear my Resistance Beret to remind myself and others who I stand for. I will not back down so easily again. Aislinn Mollisong is back in business.

collects Aether Now I have to fill up the Tower Engine, then help the urchins, clean all the lampposts in No Man's Landing, pick up trash, make a few Aether boilers, smash some propaganda dispensers and reprogram them, and finally, go up to the Old Mount to stay out of the fog. That has make up for the mistake, right? sigh I hope so.

Ariella Newheart walked slowly down the street away from the Tower Engine, a heavy burden weighing on her heart. Somehow, doing all these good deeds didn't seem to cover over her fault. Ariella began to wonder if RobotMay3 had been right. Maybe she couldn't do it on her own. Ariella looked up at the sky, suddenly seeing something atop the roof of the Tower Engine she had just finished filling with Aether. A long, crimson cloak billowed outward in the wind, and Ariella knew the Scarlet Man was watching her, waiting. But her pride wouldn't let her go to Him. She had to fix this on her own. Steeling herself, she walked away from the tower and didn't look back.

Uh, um, yeah. I have no idea what I am doing here. I got a note saying to meet someone here, and no one is here. Not even Automatons! Wait a second, why did I come if there is no information or names or anything on this paper? I must be foggy! This is a trap!

"No, it isn't. Frankly, I'm surprised you came."
Who are you? Wait, @Scarlett_Darkhall? @Ilayne_Merespark? The Twinpanions?!

Scarlett slid like a shadow throughout the streets, searching, hoping. She just knew the Scarlet Man had sent her that message from RobotMay3 for a reason... if she could do anything to help Ariella, she didn't want to miss the opportunity to do so. She just hoped she wasn't too late. She should have known she was in trouble when she had stopped seeing her.

Ariella was a good friend- one that was hard to come by...although she was crazy sometimes. She almost laughed at the memory when she had first met her- swinging down from a tree and knocking her out! Haha, good times...

Suddenly, the fog clogging the stone streets beneath her vanished, and she could see the sky clearing and the atmosphere changing dramatically. Someone had filled the Tower Engine! Scarlett dared to get her hopes up. Could it be...?
She raced to the Town Square, and she saw a sight that made her gasp. There was Ariella- her distinctive red hair noticeable from anywhere- and she was walking hastily towards the entrance of Old Mount!

"Ariella!" Scarlett cried, running towards her friend. Ariella saw her, but then quickly turned her head and quicked her pace. Why is she running from me? Scarlett thought, running all the harder. Finally, she reached her and grabbed her by the shoulder.
"Ariella, it's just me, Scarlett!" she said, gasping for breath. "Now why in Aethesia are you running?"
Ariella was gasping for breath as well. "Please, don't make this harder than it already is." She pulled away from her grip and continued walking. But before she could get far, Scarlett stepped in front of her.
"What is?" she inquisted. "You've changed, Ari. I haven't seen you act like this before... what's wrong? And why were you heading towards Old Mount?"
But all she would do was look at the ground. Scarlett was afraid she had asked a little too much. Then she remembered what the robot had said: She's stayed in the fog too long- it's obvious. She thinks she has to somehow make it up to the Scarlet Man for something...
She was about to say something when Ariella surprised her. "I might as well tell you," she started, facing her with sad eyes. "I've done too much, Scarlett... I've gotten so caught up in my own plans that I've forgotten that His plans are greater. I've forgotten him when He's the one I should remember the most. This fog has controlled me for too long, and I feel worthless going to the Scarlet Man now, so I'm leaving." she stopped, tears streaming down her face. "Say my goodbyes to my friends for me. Farewell, Scarlett." And with that, she started up the trail to Old Mount.
Scarlett just stood there, waves of shock and sadness washing over her.

"Ariella, wait, please wait!" She rushed to catch up to her, and once again swung her around. Tears of sympthy started welling in her own eyes. "Ari, you know that isn't true! Nothing is too great for the Scarlet Man to forgive. My eyes were once blinded by the fog too- I worked solely for the Emperor himself, and I did awful things to enforce his laws. I had thought the Scarlet Man must have hated for me for what I did." Then she broke away from her gloominess of the memory and smiled with hope. "But He gave me another chance- a chance to turn away from the darkness of the fog. He set me free from it, and forgave me for neglecting Him. He is open and willing to forgive you also- all you have to do is ask."

Ariella considered what her friend had said. Could it be true? Could the Scarlet Man ever forgive her? She was silent for a long moment, then glanced up at the sky. The Scarlet Man was still crouched atop the Tower Engine, watching. What if she took the risk and He didn't accept her? Such a rejection would crush her. But...would the Scarlet Man do that? From all she knew of Him, He was kind and good. She remembered her first, brief encounter with Him. He had guided her to No Man's Landing to join the Resistance. He hadn't seemed like a cruel, ungracious fiend like Lucky was. Ariella took a deep breath. She had to trust Scarlett, and more importantly, the man in the crimson cloak who waited so patiently for her to return to Him. Ariella wiped away her tears and nodded at Scarlett. "I will go ask Him."

(OOC Note: Since the Scarlet Man is the equivalent of Jesus in the Aetherlight world, I used verses from John 14 to write His words, not wanting to put my own words in His mouth so to speak. Also, the things I wrote below are based around the idea that Aether is the equivalent Holy Spirit.)

Ariella walked slowly back to the Tower Engine, eyes downcast as the actions she had taken flooded back to her mind. She realized she had been wrong. In her desire to make up for the mistake of forgetting the Scarlet Man, she had forgotten Him once again. How disappointed in her He must be! Ariella glanced up just once to see the Scarlet Man waiting for her at the top of the steps leading to the Great Engine. She let out a long breath and took the steps one by one. She stopped with her head bowed in shame and tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I forgot about You. I thought I could fix everything on my own. I doubted that You would help me. I thought You would be angry at me, or that You had forgotten me just as I forgot You. But I was wrong. Will You please forgive me?"
At first, the Scarlet Man did not reply, but when He did, His voice was not condemning or angry. He told her that there was no mistake too terrible or great that could not be fixed--though Ariella shouldn't have attempted to do so alone. He forgave her readily of what she had done, and also asked, "Ariella, why did you doubt?"
"My pride wouldn't let me come ask for Your help. I forgot about everything You've done for me. The fog had me in its hold, and I fear that I cannot escape."
The Scarlet Man looked at Ariella with compassion. "Do not let your heart be troubled, Ariella. To help you resist the fog and remember My promises, I will give you something to help you." He took an Aether monocle from a fold of His scarlet cloak and gave it to her. "Those who are in the fog will not be able to see clearly through this, but you will. I will not leave you alone in your struggle."
So Ariella took the monocle and felt her burden lifted. "Thank You...." She examined it closely, then put it over her left eye. With it, she could see Aether shining brightly all around her and the Scarlet Man. In the distance, she saw Scarlett Darkhall watching her, and she also had Aether swirling around her. Ariella realized she could see it around all those who had an Aethermeter.
When Ariella looked back at the Scarlet Man, He had disappeared--well, almost disappeared. Ariella caught a fleeting glimpse of His cloak between the buildings on the opposite side of the Tower Engine. With a smile, she went to ask Scarlett if she and her sister wanted to get go a cup of tea--iced tea, that is.

"Uh, not just the Twinpanions.... THE Twinpanions!" I said, smirking. "It has a better ring to it."

"W-why are you guys here? Why all the secrecy?" Aislinn stuttered, looking back and forth between me and Scarlett.

"We didn't want anyone else to know," Scarlett said, looking around nervously. "But anyways... We need your help."

Aislinn's eyebrows raised. "Help with what?"

"Uh... Help with... Well.... we were wondering if you would..."

"Stop stuttering, Scarlett." I rolled my eyes. "We were wondering if you would mind fighting some automations for us."

"Fight automations?" Aislinn looked really confused now. "I can see why you got me for this. But... still, why at midnight in an alleyway in No Man's Landing? You could have just got the Resistance team together and asked for support. Everyone probably would have helped you."

Me and Scarlett looked at each other. "We don't need them. We only need you."

Aislinn sighed and shook her head. "Okay then. Where are they?"

"Good question. They're in Evercity, so we should probably get going now."

"Wait, what?!"

"Yeah, Evercity! They are, well, special. And we need you to take them down. Are you up for the challenge?"
Hmm, let me think about that.....

Scarlett jumped with suprise at the unexpected show up of Vytanni Throttlenight. With a worried glance, she looked at Ilayne. What would she think of this? This was supposed to be a secret mission. But they could use an extra hand...
especially Vytanni...

Ilayne, apparently taken back as well, said, "V?! What are you doing here?"
"I have my ways," She smirked mischievously. Ilayne stared her down instensely. But then Scarlett glared at Ilayne, finally making her sigh. "Fine. I will find that out later though...." She turned to the newly formed group. "Alright, enough talking, follow me. We've wasted enough time already- those automatons can't get to Evercity!"
As the group followed Ilayne out the door into the night, Scarlett caught Vytanni and Aislinn exchanging confused glances. "Why won't they tell us anything?" Vytanni whispered. "I don't know, but something strange is going on... For now though, I am SO ready to smash some automations!" Aislinn replied readily.

Scarlett looked to the ground in thought. Ilayne had told her they didn't need help on this mission, but she had convinced her otherwise, bringing Aislinn and now Vytanni along with them. But Scarlett could tell that she felt uncomfortable having the two with them, as much as they were friends, because of her stubbornness. Ilayne was like that- she thought that her plans were always better and that she didn't need anyone's help. Scarlett wanted to show her that the both of them did need help. But she guessed that Ilayne was just too embarrassed to let these girls in on a mission that was meant for her and Ilayne only. She understood that.

Scarlett's train of thought was interrupted by clanking noises. Clank, Clank, whirrr In reaction, she quickly swung out her two pistols, making sure they were loaded. "We're here," Ilayne whispered, also pulling out her pistols, "Attack on three- One..." Hastily, Vytanni carefully unhooked some grenades from her belt. "Two..." Aislinn took out her smashing hammer, smirking. "This is going to be fun," she murmured. Scarlett roled her eyes playfully at her friend's readiness. "THREE!" As fast as lighting, the four girls jumped from their hiding place, their weapons raised high.

"Aislinn!!! Behind you!!!" Scarlett screamed, but it was too late. A terrifying tall Lasher slid out from the shadows and brought down it's tentacles onto Aislinn. She was immediately knocked out, and the Lasher turned to us three.

"A lasher?! Сломанные котлы!! No wonder you needed Aislinn!" Vytanni gasped.

"Uh, what did you say?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Nevermind..."

Scarlett immediately started shooting at the Lasher with her pistols. Vytanni grabbed another grenade, and I got out my Tesla hammer. I got ready to spring upon the Automation.

"And whatever you do guys, be careful with how you kill them!" I yelled, looking at the other approaching automations. "It could damage... it."

Scarlett nodded, but Vytanni tilted her head in confusion. Aislinn groaned at the sidelines and opened her eyes. Seeing the Lasher, she snarled.

"Oh yeah?! You're gonna pay for that!!"
