"Wh-what? SHE can't be leader!" Stanley protested as we loaded onto the Copper Petal.
"She didn't even DO anything when the Automatons showed up! She just SAT there!"
I just panicked, Ana thought miserably, At least Snoelle is familiar with Aethasia
Ana did her best to block out the following conversation. Once it was over, she stood on the outskirts of the crowd of Snoelle's friends, listening to Snoelle chatter away. While she talked, she had a far off look in her eyes.
Ana's brow furrowed. The corners of Snoelle's perfect smile drifted into a frown of sorts.
She's unhappy? How could someone as liked as Snoelle possibly be unhappy?
Because they don't truly like her, Ana Miss K whispered in her mind.
Ana blinked in surprise, Why would they spend so much time with her then?
Why do you spend time with her? Miss K asked.
Because . . . she's funny, she's nice, she's my crafting partner, and . . . Ana sighed, She's the only person who talks to me at all.
You could always fix that problem, you know Miss K reminded her.
I know, but . . . I can't!
Then be a good friend to Snoelle
It's hard to make friends, K, you were the only friend I ever had!
Truth be known it's hard! Miss K exclaimed, But if you never leap, you'll never know what it's like to fly. Fly . . .
Miss K's voice faded away as Ana returned to the present. Snoelle's followers were still flocked around her in a thick crowd. Ana stepped away from the crowd and bumped into Stanley.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" Ana cried, leaping back.
