You could possibly add in mercenaries and neutral side characters, if that’s too hard, then oh well.
I could help too, I’ve used the digital software, and I might help you. The boards seem a bit too big to use, since they do cost a lot and there quite a lot of pieces. You should extend the smugglers cove by adding the other side, where one side you can pull out to see inside.
You might need to rearrange the pathways so that you use the least amount of pieces to go somewhere. For instance, There are multiple paths to one place, but that’s not really necessary.
Have you started a fighting mechanic yet, I suppose a simple dice/spinner could make it possible. You need to add the bosses too.
I’ve got a suggestion. Why not just put all of one certain area, for instance no mans landing, into one base plate, buildings and objects are best to be small. If you look at the real Lego games sets, all the buildings of real stuff are like 5 times smaller compared to mini figure/mini mini figure scaled buildings.
The houses should be just about 2x2x3 in any order of height, width, and length. Then you can add the pieces to add small detailed things to make it look cute and more attractive, plus more quantity of houses and things to play in. Smugglers cove should only be about 1/4-1/8 of a base plate. Then you could perhaps add the pathway to engines bay in the base plate as well, and be able to connect it to engine bay. Where you can add a aether engine there as some sorta reward.
To make a cool game mechanic, you should make it, to a objective to full the aether engines, by doing that, you must collect aether. To collect aether you must defeat automotons and collect it in places. Once you collect it you can add a piece to the engine. That’s probably what you had in mind, but oh well.
Make as much as you can movable. You should be able to let the empire and that move certain plates to move the aether around. Therefore making it hard for the resistance to move closer. Things like automotons and houses and blueprints(just thought of an idea) should be moved around to keep the resistance at their toes.
