Eps. 3 ~ EDITED
INT. COMPUTER 2B4 EVERCITY - DAY
Zinnia is sitting down at a desk with a fog-powered computer, and Emperor Lucky is looking over her shoulder.
ZINNIA: Sire, my troops are closing in on those rebels, as you can see on my screen here. The red dots right here are my troops.
LUCKY: Then what are the grey ones for?
ZINNIA: Those are unidentified, since we haven't scanned them like we have with all the automatons and ourselves, they will turn up grey. As you can see, we have them completely surrounded. They just don't know it.
LUCKY (clearly impressed) : So you're saying they won't be able to intercept those weapons?
ZINNIA: No sir.
LUCKY: Very good work, general.
Lucky gives her a nod of approval, and Zinnia smiles with satisfaction.
ZINNIA: Once those rebels find the weapons, we will charge in and capture them all together. The attack will begin shortly.
*Lucky nods, but then something catches his eye on the screen. He looks closer.
LUCKY: Hm . . . What are those grey dots near Engine Bay?
Zinnia looks closer as well.
ZINNIA: . . . Must be some treasure seekers.
EXT. DOCKS IN ENGINE BAY - LATE MORNING
West and Gail are waiting impatiently just in sight of the docks. Gail is pacing while West is looking through a spyglass.
GAIL (stopping) : Well? Any sign of it?
WEST: No sign of that ship anywhere. puts down the spyglass I don't know what's taking them so long. sighs Where's Katherine?
GAIL: Cleaning our pistols.
Gail WALKS over to West and with her hand motion, asks for the spyglass. West DROPS it into her hand.
WEST: I'll go see how she's doing. I'll be right back.
West WALKS away. Gail lifts the spyglass to her eye.
EXT. ENGINE BAY - CONT.
Katherine is sitting on a crate, looking out over the green-like sea. The pistols are lying on the ground beside her. West walks up behind her. She senses his presence but shows no emotion.
KATHERINE: How long will Lucky be here?
Wests LOOKS into the sky an crosses his arms.
WEST: Until he comes back.
KATHERINE (looking up at him) : He who?
WEST: The Scarlett Man.
KATHERINE: He's coming back? I thought he already came.
WEST (looking down at her, a bit surprised) : How do you know about Him?
KATHERINE (looking back at the ocean, almost sadly) :My parents told me about Him. They said I was never to tell anyone about it. I guess it was because almost everyone worked for Lucky, and it could have gotten us thrown in prison. They died before they could tell me more. All I want to know is where the Scarlett Man is. (a tear appears in her eye) If He were here, he could have helped my parents somehow.
West places a comforting hand on her shoulder.
WEST: He is gone for only a short time. But he will come back. I don't know why he didn't help your parents, but I'm guessing they trusted in him, which I'm hoping you will too.
KATHERINE: I'm not blaming the Scarlett Man--I do trust Him--but I just want to know why he couldn't have saved my parents.
Suddenly, a cry comes from the distance. West and Kat turn to look.
GAIL (O. S.): Sir! Kat! Look, there's a boat on the horizon!
WEST (helping Katherine off the crate): Let's go await their arrival. We'll have to pick up this discussion later.
EXT. WOODS IN BOOTLEG PASS - LATE MORNING
Chris and his party are surrounding Gregory, who is digging in the dirt with a shovel. They all look dirty, appearing as if they had gone through a lot to get too this spot.
CHRIS (excited): Dig a bit more! This has to be the spot!
GREGORY (rolling his eyes) : You said that about the last three holes we dug up.
CHRIS: Well this time I'm positive the crate is here.
TRINIAN (yawning) : Whoever hid this certainly hid it well . . .
RAVEN: I'm hoping that note I found telling us about this wasn't just a big hoax.
CHRIS: I'm sure it's not---
A clink is heard, and everyone turns with wide towards Gregory.
GREGORY (surprised and relieved) : Well, it actually is here.
CHRIS: I knew it! I knew it! The crate's ours! Bring it up so we can see what kind of weapons are in there.
But before anyone can move, metal footsteps are heard in the distance. The scouting party immediately quiets.
CELOSIA (whispering) : I'll go see what that is.
Celosia crawls over to a nearby bush and peeks over. She quickly ducks again.
CELOSIA (eyes wide) : A huge party of automatons! We've got to get out of here!
CHRIS (looking down into the hole) : But we can't just leave the crate here! We have two shovels, we can fight them with those.
GREGORY (sarcastically) : Oh, well that's a great plan. Let's fight a party of automatons that have guns with shovels. Brilliant.
Chris appears stressed, looking back and forth between the crate and the automatons in the distance. Raven looks thoughtful.
RAVEN: I might have an idea, if it's alright with you, Chris.
CHRIS: I'm all ears.
RAVEN: Alright. Gregory, Heather and Renna, you three come with me. The rest of you stay here, get that crate out of the ground, and carry it to safety.
EXT. DOCKS IN ENGINE BAY - LATE MORNING
West, Katherine, and Gail are standing beside the dock, watching a large ship approach.
WEST (squinting) : I don't recognize that ship, I wonder what happened to the supply vessel . . .
GAIL: Maybe it got lost in a storm or was destroyed?
A call is heard from the vessel.
VOICE (O. S.): Ahoy there!
WEST: Hello! We've been expecting you!
VOICE (still O. S.): We have your weapons!
A few minutes later, the ship stops and a rowboat is dropped. A couple of men get in it, and start rowing toward land.
KATHERINE (whispering) : Sir, they're pirates! Look, on the side it says the 'Purple Raven'.
WEST (crossing his arms) : I've noticed. They probably were the ones that stole the weapons from the other ship.
GAIL: But how did they know that we were expecting weapons?
WEST: That I don't know, but have your pistols ready just in case.
The rowboat finally reaches shore, and while the other men tie the boat, DRAKE NORTHQUILL (19) WALKS towards West and the girls.
DRAKE: Hello! I'm Drake Northquill, but you can call me Northquill. I'm the captain of this crew. We have delivered the weapons you ordered.
WEST (eyeing him suspiciously) : But how did you know that we ordered weapons?
DRAKE (raising an eyebrow) : You did order weapons, did you not? You are West Braizewalker?
WEST: Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. Tell me, what happened to the Flying Eagle?
DRAKE (smiling) : I'm guessing you think I stole the weapons. That is not the case, sir. The crew of the Flying Eagle knew they could get in trouble for buying and selling weapons. So they said they would give them to me for only a fourth of what they paid for. I instantly agreed, even though I knew what the cost could have been for me. So I have brought your weapons in the Purple Raven, my ship. My crew will stand up to anything. We won't get pushed around by Lucky and his little army of metal machines!
West GLANCES at Katherine and Gail, who shrug and nod.
WEST: So you're saying you're on the good side?
DRAKE (laughing) : No, but I'm not saying I'm on the 'bad' side either. Do you want your weapons still?
WEST: Yes, We will take them. How much will they cost?
DRAKE: 500 sovereigns.
WEST (eyes widening) : That's a little outrageous, don't you think?
DRAKE: Well sir, they are in high demand. No one will have them in a little while except the Emperor. In fact, I heard he was looking for some at this very moment. I can always sell them to him if you're not interested.
WEST:---No, we'll take them.
West pulls out the money and gives it to Drake, who smiles.
DRAKE: Pleasure doing business with you, sir. We shall be off.
While Drake turns and walks too the dinghy to get the shipment, West and girls look at each other with wary glances.
EXT. WOODS IN BOOTLEG PASS - EARLY AFTERNOON
Raven, Gregory, Heather and Renna are running as fast as they can, all having red faces and breathing hard.
GREGORY (taking quick breaths) : So what exactly is your plan, Raven?
RAVEN: Well, the first part was to get those autos to chase us. And I'm still figuring the rest out.
GREGORY (sarcastically) : Oh great! That's reassuring!
Gun shots are heard, and bullets whiz past them.
RENNA (looking behind them) : They're shooting at us and getting closer! Raven, do you even know where we're going?!
RAVEN (frustrated) : I know, I know! Just don't look behind! I'm trying to concentrate, so be quiet!
RENNA: But Rae, I can't run any longer! I feel like my legs are going to fall off!
Sweat drips off Raven's face, appearing stressed as she tries to think of something. Then she lights up.
RAVEN: Come on everyone! To Scarlett Hill!
GREGORY: Scarlett Hill? What are we going to do we we get there?
RAVEN (Grug style) : We'll figure that out once we get there!
