The Headmaster of Aethesian Academy held up a manila envelope. It had the profiles of everyone he wanted to invite to the Academy: Lila Lightcraft, Toren Jumpspark, and others. His protegee entered. She had changed into her uniform was neat, but her resistance beret was askew. The Headmaster smiled. "Are you OK, my child?" He asked. Luna smiled.
"Yes sir, I was just thinking about how it would be to have other people here."
The Headmaster's smile grew broader. "It will certainly be an adventure!"

I sat down on my steps and glanced up to a note sticking out of the mailbox. I stood up and approached the mailbox slowly. I wasn't sure if it was another Surprise bomb placed in by one of my adversaries. I opened the box to find that there was a small crisp letter with red wax and an R engraved in it. I opened it to find the words written in cursive.

The Resistence Academy has invited you to attend our Academy,

The rest of it was just words on paper. The first part of it was the only thing I paid attention too. I tucked the paper in my pocket. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go, I was born for explosions and action, not classes and schoolwork. Plus would I have to wear a uniform, or even worse a skirt or dress? I wouldn't take that.

After a while of thinking, I decided I would give it a try. If I didn't like it I would quit. I slapped my hands together and grabbed the letter to check the address. I found it at the bottom of the page in faint letters.

It was a normal day at the house for me. I was just sitting at the dinner table, and I heard the mailman deliver my daily mail.

After I heard the mailman ride away in his usual steampunk carriage, I stretched in my chair and relaxed. Today... Is... An amazing day.

It was true, too - it was indeed a georgeous, sunny day. The sun's rays were shining down, illuminating the whole house from outside those sliding glass windows.

I always had known life was awesome, but it was about to get a whole lot more intriguing.

I stood up from the wooden chair I was sitting in, and looked toward the direction of the door. I have mail to read.

I opened the white wooden door, and took in the fresh, crisp air. It was still spring, so the air was still a bit chilly, but it was refreshing. I smiled in delight as I walked down my steps and stood on the cobblestone ground, taking in more fresh air.

I walked toward the mailbox, opened it, and then skimmed through all the letters, still in their envelopes. I walked back toward the front door, and stopped in my tracks.

The Resistance Academy?

It can't be!

My eyes wide, I ran inside the house, closed the door behind me, placed the other letters on the cluttered dining room table, and tore open the letter that said it was from the Resistance Academy.

It read:

Dear Nola,
The Resistance Academy has invited you to attend our academy. In this academy, you will learn how to fight the Empire, craft items, develop special abilities, collect Aether, and much more.

In case you choose to accept our invitation, we have supplied you with the school routine and times, as well as a map of the campus.

I skipped the next part that contained the routine, times and the map of the campus, and continued reading.

We hope you accept our invitation, and we can't wait to see you at the Resistance Academy. If you do choose to decline our offer, you may disregard this letter.

I nearly screamed when I finished reading the letter. I, of all people, was invited to the Resistance Academy? I wasn't even rich! I beamed, all of the possibilities of my temporary life in the academy swirling in my head.

Of course I'm going to accept. It's going to be a piece of cake! . . . Right?

I shook the very last thought off and read the P.S., which included their address. I squealed once more, and set out for the academy.

"Good morning Willow."

"Meow, purrrr."

It was a normal day at Jefferson's camp, or home as I liked to call it. And I was frying up some breakfast for Jefferson. Willow had just come into the kitchen to get her breakfast and settled down at her food bowl to eat it. Finishing the last piece of IceBurg Bacon for Jefferson and plopping it on a plate I walked outside the cabin into the fresh, cool air.

"Jefferson, breakfast is ready!" I called and walked up to a sleeping Jefferson at his desk. I waved my hand over the bacon so the smell drifted under Jefferson's nose (he had his helmet off.) instantly Jefferson shot up and almost fell over.

"Do I smell bacon? Oh, Lila! There you are. I was waiting for yoaaaawn." Jefferson yawned and took his plate of bacon, wolfing it down.

"Ahh, thank you. Now, back to work." He put his helmet back on and started another long day of research.

Taking the dishes back to the cabin I started doing my other chores around the camp. That included feeding the animals and checking to see if they were cold enough, polishing the beakers, getting the science papers and delivering them to Jefferson, and other stuff like that. Walking past the Mailbox I saw that the flag was up.

that's strange, we haven't gotten mail in the past week...

Putting down some supplies I walked over to the mailbox and opened it. There was a letter inside. I pulled it out and read the address.

To Miss Lila Lightcraft of the Southern Slurries.

"Huh, I wonder who it could be from..." I decided to open it in the cabin with Willow. Whenever there was a letter to me my cat always wanted to see what it was.

"Willow, I got s letter in the mail!"

"Meow?" Willow looked up from her food bowl. Then padded over to me as I sat down near the blazing fireplace.

I slowly opened the letter. Then I saw the headline.

The Resistence Academy has invited you to enroll.

I gasped, and ran out of the house as fast as I could.

"JEFFERSON JEFFERSON JEFFERSON!!! You'll never guess what I got in the mail!!!!"

Jefferson looked up from his work, he had taken his helmet off again and a smile was on his face.

"An invitation to the Resistence Academy?"

"No, an invitation to the Resistence Aca- wait, how did you know?"

He grinned. "Just a guess. Congratulations Lila! You're going to go of course."

"Of course! Why would I not go? This is so exciting!"

"Well, you better pack now if you're going to leave tomorrow."

I didn't even think twice about what he said. "Ok!" I ran off to pack all my necessities and almost tripped over Willow as I was running to my bedroom.

"MEOW!"

"Oop! Sorry Willow. I got an invitation to the Resistence Academy! And I'm going to pack so I can leave tomorrow."

well you should be a bit more careful about it.

"I said I was sorry!"

Willow hmphed and walked away with her tail and head in the air. I was so excited I almost tried to pack my bed. But then remembered they had beds at the academy so I didn't need mine. When I was all finished it suddenly occurred to me that they would have uniforms at the academy so I didn't need my clothes. That's when Willow came into the room.

aren't you forgetting something Lila?

"I don't think so...I have all the things people Ned to survive. I also have a survival kit in case we go on a trek in the forest and end up getting lost! It has tents, bug repellent, a camp fire starter, even marshmallows!"

yes, that's all nice but there is somethings you're forgetting!

I got a little frustrated

no there isn't! I have everything that I need to survive!

ugh, how dumb are you humans?! You're forgetting ME!

I looked at Willow for a moment, then face palmed so hard it hurt.

"Oh how could I be so stupid?! Of course I'm forgetting you! Here I'll take out all my clothes since I won't be needing them and put your stuff in there. Thanks for reminding me Willow."

"Meow."

I took out all my clothes except for a dressing gown and replaced it with Willow's bed, food and water, and some toys.

"There, now I'm ready."

then let's go!

That night we went to bed early. And in the morning, after I had checked everything, we were ready. I took out my Aethermeter and stayed the exact address of the academy. We were whisked away in a swirl of Aether. I held Willow tight as we landed in front of a golden gate with an emblem of red that had the letters RA on it. Past the gate I could see a beuatiful garden, and in the ferry middle of it, a huge building that looked like s castle.

"We're here Willow. This is the Resistence Academy."

I plucked up my courage, went up to buzzer next to the gate, and pressed.

I heard the buzzer at the front gates go off. "Someone's here, Headmaster!" I yelled as I dashed to open the gates. A girl with blue eyes and black hair in a bun stood there holding her bags. "Come in," I said, motioning inside the gates. Our school mascot, a lynx named Scarlet, immediately leapt off her pedestal and ran to this newcomer.
"Aww!" Cooed the girl, leaning down to scratch her between her fuzzy ears.
"This is Scarlet," I explained. "I'm Luna, and let me guess, you're Lila?"
Lila nodded, smiling. "It's great to be here!" She said.
I handed her a bundle wrapped in brown paper and taped shut. "Your uniform and schedule is in there, along with bed check regulations."
"Bed check?" Asked Lila.
I nodded. "To make sure you aren't hiding Fog technology or anything like that."
I took Lila inside and showed her to her room. It was the large, circular room at the top of the tower, with a bunk bed and a desk with two chairs. "It's possible you may be sharing this room with somebody, so we've made extra arrangements. The Headmaster will see you downstairs."

I ringed the doorbell to this weird Resistance Academy. I was met by a blonde haired girl who had an excited smile plastered on her face. "Come in," she said opening the door wider for me to come in. There was a lynx purring on the girl's leg I nearly attacked it. I hated cats, I hated cats soooooo much. "I'm Luna and you are...?"
"Toren," I replied, still eyeing the cat.
"I thought so... this is Scarlet," she pointed to the cat, "and I'm Luna."
"No one said there would be cats here!" I shouted. "I'm allergic to cats! Huh..."
"Well.. sorry," Luna sighed, then she handed me a bundle wrapped in brown paper and taped shut. "Here's your uniform and schedule is in your room, oh and also your bed regulations."
"Bed check regulations, what is this?" I asked sarcastically, opened the bundle and stared at the uniform, "You have to be kidding me. A dress... can I make renovations to this and make them shorts?"

I smile at this girl. "You won't have to wear the uniform all the time, just during class. No one has asked about renovations, you'll have to talk to the Headmaster, which is where I am taking you both now."

Soon after I pressed the buzzer a girl that looked about my age hurried out of the building toward me. She had short blond hair and a pretty face. She opened the the gate and motioned inside.

"Come in." she said, her voice friendly, I decided I liked her. Suddenly a strange cat I'd never seen before leaped off a pedestal and bounded toward me. Willow climbed up onto my shoulders and hissed.

Be quiet Willow, the cat looks nice!

But it's ANOTHER CAT!! And a big one at that, I don't like it one bit.

Well, try to be nice to her, I think she looks friendly.

Willow humphed but kept her eyes on the large cat running toward us. When it got to me I bent down and scratched her ears. The cat purred.

"Aww!" I said as the cat rubbed it's face against my hand.

"This is Scarlet." The girl said, "I'm Luna, and let me guess, you're Lila?"

I nodded and smiled but I felt Willow tense up.

How did she know your name?!

I sighed. She probably helped the headmaster of this place to send the invitations! And the headmaster most likely told her about the people he was inviting. Stop being so suspicious Willow!

"It's great to be here!" I say, trying not to look suspicious or anything. The girl hands me a paper package.

"Your uniform and schedule is in there, along with bed chick regulations."

Bed check? I knew this place is no good! They're going to find my secret stash of buttons!

I try not to make an exasperated sigh. Willow! I'm sure they'll let you keep your buttons. But I asked Luna just so that Willow would calm down.

"Bed check?"

Luna nodded, "To make sure you aren't hiding Fog technology or anything like that."

See? They won't take away your buttons, Willow.

Willow hmphed. Let's see about that...

The girl led us inside and showed us to a large, circular room that I immediately loved. It had a bunk bed and a desk with two chairs.

Wait, are they going to let me have that bed all to myself? Maybe this isn't such a bad place after all...

"It's possible you may be shareing this room with somebody, so we've made extra arrangements. The Headmaster will see you downstairs." With that, Luna left the room and hurried downstairs.

Oh.

Oh hush Willow I've always wanted to share a room with someone else!

But you have! With ME!

I sighed. I meant another human.

I started unpacking all my stuff and placing them in the right spots. I was careful to leave half the desk empty for my roommate. Then I put all Willow's stuff in a space next to the bottom bunk which I chose. Opening the package Luna had given me I found my uniform, and squealed with delight.

"I've always wanted a uniform Willow! This is going to be so much fun!!" I put it on at once and twirled around in front of a full size mirror on the other side side of the room.

"I love it!" Then, after I tacked my schedule up on the wall next to my bed, I hurried downstairs to meet the Headmaster.

The Headmaster was filing some paperwork when there was a knock on his door. "Come in!" He called. The first student, Lila Lightcraft, came inside. "You wanted to see me?" She asked.
"Yes," replied the Headmaster. "I just wanted to make sure you were comfortable and all that."
"Oh yes! I love my room!"
"You wouldn't mind sharing it?" He asked.
"Oh no!" She replied.
"That great." The Headmaster smiled. He handed her a small leather-bound book. "This is a guide to our school, and if you need help, press this button." He pointed to a small button almost hidden in the intricate binding.
"May the Aether be with you."

My eyes lit up as the Headmaster handed me the book.

"Thank you!" I breathed, and hugged it close. Then I curtsied and hurried out the room and up the stairs to my room.

"Willow! The Headmaster gave me a book about the school and there's a secret help button in it!"

A button? Let me look at it!

I rolled my eyes. "No, Willow it's not the kind of button you're thinking of. It's where you press it and something happens! In this case when I press it, an alarm goes to the Headmaster! Or that's what I assume..."

Not interested anymore Willow went back to eating. I flopped down on my bed and sighed with happiness.

"This is going to be the best thing I've ever done!"

(OOC: @Luna_Fuzzyradish @Toren_Jumpspark @Lila_Lightcraft - I just read through all of the recent replies since I was gone, and WOW!!! EPICNESS! You guys did AWESOME! )

I finally arrived at the Resistance Academy. I gazed at the golden gate in front of me, the emblem of red with the letters "RA" engraved in it, the garden beyond it, the ginormous campus beyond that, and a beautiful fountain that was just past the gate.

This... Is... Amazing!

I exhaled slightly. I could barely even believe the fact that I, of all people was invited.

Slowly and shakily, I pressed on the buzzer. "Hello?" I asked, in case anyone was hidden somewhere that I couldn't see. "Hello, is anybody there? I'm Nola Applequill."

I stormed up ahead of Luna and busted into the Headmaster's room. I walked over near the table, leaned over, and squinted my eyes. "Ok Mr. Headmaster guy," I said roughly slapping my hand on the table and leaving it there. "So I have a very important question. Very important. I need to know if I can Renovate my uniform. I need pants or shorts, preferably shorts. Skirts or dresses, are not an option."

The Headmaster smiled at the girl who had burst into his study, making demands. "Yes, my child," he chuckled, "you may. Also, this book is for you." He handed her a thin leather-bound volume. "Press this button if you are ever in need of assistance," he said, running his finger over a button nearly hidden in the binding. "Now, Luna will take you to your room."

The Headmaster smiled at me, after I stated my case. "Yes my child," he chuckled. Child? CHILD?! Who was he to call me child! "You may." Oh like I need his justification, I would have done it if he said no anyway. "Also this book is for you." He handed me a thin leather-bound volume. At least it's not pink. "Press the button if you are ever in need of assistance."

Leaving the room I scoffed at him smiling. Your not supposed to smile at me. You're supposed to be mad at my outburst. Not Smiling? What is this? I cringed even more and replied to the last part of his saying. "I don't think I'll need any assistance. I'm a genius I figure things out quickly without any help."

I grabbed Toren's arm and jerked her out the door. I made sure we were out of the Headmaster's earshot, then turned to her and hissed, "Never talk back to the Headmaster like that. Ever." I pointed up the stairs and said, "Your room is the third door on the right."

"Jeez. it's not like he's some almighty king walking around here," I scoffed. "I give respect to people I respect. And so far I wouldn't say I respect him. That doesn't mean he couldn't earn it in the future."
She seemed to ignore my response and said, "Your room is the third door on the right."
I nodded and walked inside the room, it was almost perfect, that was hard to get out of me. It was stable and it had things that I could work so well (I'm not sure what this room is like @Luna_Fuzzyradish. but since you do know me I think you could describe it best to my liking since she said it was perfect).

I dash to the gate and fling It open. A girl is standing there. "I'm so sorry!" I babble. I hand her her uniform. "I heard the buzzer but I was busy with the others and meant to open the gate but forgot!"
"No worries!" The girl smiles. I take her upstairs and knock on Lila's door. "This is your new roomie!" I tell Lila.

I sighed as I walked out of my room. When would the classes start? I was already bored. Would they help us beat up Tin Cans? I just stuffed the thoughts about this school and decided to go on a walk around the school. I looked across the hallway and saw a door that looked like it lead to an outdoors area.

I didn't want to be stuck inside the whole time and ran out the door. I was greeted by the warm smell of the grass. I gazed around the hard and saw crossbows and snipers, swords, and hammers. I ran over and saw katana hung up, I stared in awe, "AHhh...." I then glanced across the grass and saw a beautiful Hammer just waiting to be used. I think I'm in heaven...
"Hey, Toren!" I heard a shout come from the building, I looked across from laying in the grass and saw Luna staring at me with a frustrated look. "This was supposed to be shown to you guys Tomorrow. A surprise, I guess you just ruined it. A well. Anyways, I think you should come back in and get acquainted with your classmates."

I moved and sat with my back facing Luna, and muttered, "Darn... right at the best part." I sat up and walked towards Luna. Then I asked, raising two fingers and crunching them up and down, "So where are these so-called acquaintances?"
