Tick, tock, the clock is set,
The fire is burning, but who lit it?
A swirling mass of shadows, there can only be one,
The dark angry clouds that block out the sun.
It's a path you have to travel all on your own.
As you venture into the world of the unknown...
The mist continues to surround the heart,
The same mist that threatens to rip it apart.
The twilight comes like a clawing hand,
Ripping at the hope, spreading terror across the land.
But, wait, a spark, there it is again,
A light in the darkness, blessed light where have you been?
Within the mist, a light is seen
Calling softly o're the grey
For those who tread the darkest path
Are summoned to the splendid way
The dawn breaks on a new day,
The light is coming in every way.
The deep shadows that cover the soul,
Fade away with the warmth of the coals.
This path that was once trod alone,
Is no more the path of the Unknown.
The light, it beckons the soul to live
Forsake the longing, anger, pain
That pelt you as the pouring rain
Throw off the burden and forgive
The deathly darkness now is passed
Be free to breath and live at last
The darkness is gone the night is past,
Only light remains against the dark blast.
The grief and pain that once filled the soul,
Are gone now, the broken is whole.
The shadows, in their terror, flee
Releasing whom they long had bound
The light, which hears each desperate plea
Lifts the prisoner from the ground
"The mist, the mist, it calls to me.
My imprisoned soul that is now set free.
Once chained in the darkness, now bound by the light.
Where once was blindness, now there is sight."
What once was death, now lives anew
No more enslaved this soul shall roam
Now, he hears the Word so true
And sets his eyes on a heavenly home
